OUR APPROACH

Parents often reach out because they know their child is struggling, but they aren't always sure exactly what is going on—or what kind of help their child needs. We help families better understand what is happening beneath the behavior and develop practical strategies that children can use at home, at school, and in everyday life.

Together we’ll build coping skills that foster positive, meaningful changes. We’ll explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors through evidence-based treatments, using integrative modalities such as CBT, DBT informed interventions and strategies, motivational interviewing, ACT, and play and art therapy techniques. Our clinicians work directly with parents to support their children through parent consultation and evidenced based SPACE treatment.  You can expect to be provided actionable steps and strategies you can use in everyday situations for navigating challenges.

Our expertise includes:

Anxiety

Anxiety in children can look like excessive worrying, reassurance seeking, perfectionism, difficulty separating from parents, physical complaints, avoidance, irritability, or emotional outbursts.

We help children and teens understand anxiety, build confidence in their ability to handle uncomfortable feelings, and gradually face situations they have been avoiding.

ADHD & Executive Functioning

ADHD affects much more than attention. Children with ADHD may struggle with impulsivity, organization, frustration tolerance, emotional regulation, time management, flexibility, and completing tasks. We help children and teens develop practical skills while also helping parents better understand and respond to their child's needs.

OCD

Children and teens with OCD may experience intrusive thoughts, repetitive behaviors, rituals, reassurance seeking, or a strong need for things to feel "just right."

Treatment focuses on helping children understand OCD and gradually become more comfortable tolerating uncertainty and resisting compulsions.

Autism & Neurodivergence

We provide supportive, neurodiversity-affirming therapy for autistic and neurodivergent children and adolescents. Treatment is individualized and may focus on emotional regulation, anxiety, flexibility, self-advocacy, social understanding, executive functioning, and developing a positive understanding of one's own strengths and needs.

Emotional Regulation

Some children experience emotions very intensely and have difficulty slowing down once they become upset. We help children identify emotions and body signals, increase frustration tolerance, develop coping and problem-solving skills, and learn how to recover more effectively when things don't go as planned.

School Anxiety & School Refusal

When anxiety begins interfering with school attendance, mornings can become overwhelming for the entire family. We work collaboratively with children, parents, schools, and other providers when appropriate to understand what is driving the avoidance and develop a plan that supports both emotional well-being and a successful return to school.

Parent Support & SPACE

Sometimes the most effective way to help an anxious child is to work directly with parents.

We provide parent consultation and SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) treatment to help parents respond supportively to anxiety while gradually reducing accommodations that may unintentionally reinforce avoidance.
